Housing and communities business livin has awarded a £110 million contract set to revolutionise the way its homes are maintained and repaired.
Mears Group has been awarded the initial seven year contract to provide repair and maintenance, gas serving, planned works and aids and adaptations to livin’s 8,500 properties across Country Durham.
The contract will see the introduction of a new digital interface which will enable customers to identify, diagnose and book repairs to their homes online as well as providing more customer friendly working hours with repairs carried out until 8pm during the week and between 8am and 12 noon on Saturdays.
Preparation for the contract commencement has been ongoing for some weeks, involving full co-location of 32 Mears staff now based at livin’s headquarters in Spennymoor.
