Cold weather payment
The recent cold weather has triggered the Department for Work and Pension’s Cold Weather Payment for parts of the North East, including some of our tenants. The one off amount of £25 is paid when the average temperature in an area is recorded as zero degrees celsius or below for seven consecutive days.
You could be eligible if you receive certain benefits, including Universal Credit, pension credit, income support or jobseeker’s allowance.
This payment should be made automatically within 14 working days to those who are eligible. But if you think you’ve missed out, please get in touch.

Keep warm this winter
If you are worried about paying for your gas or electric, or you want to make sure you are on the best rate, we can help.
We work with specialist energy advisers who can help with fuel debt and check you are on the best possible energy tariff. They can also see if you qualify for extra support such as the Warm Homes Discount scheme.
