Delivering creative craft and wellbeing sessions in Shildon and Spennymoor
We’re bringing people together in Shildon and Spennymoor with a brand‑new programme of creative wellbeing sessions, offering a relaxed and enjoyable way for you to connect with others.
Our communal lounge at Rowan Avenue in Shildon is one of the spaces now hosting community craft sessions, delivered by Adult Wellbeing Services and Wellbeing for Life, with support from Shildon Town Council.
The sessions are friendly and informal, shaped using your feedback. Fully funded and free to join, they’re part of our commitment to supporting health and wellbeing and making a positive contribution by bringing people together through creative activities.
Using simple, hands‑on activities alongside a newly launched positive mental wellbeing wheel activity booklet, the sessions create natural opportunities to meet people and feel more connected.
Julie Hedger, our tenant, said: “I’m really happy that these sessions are being put on. They allow me to meet new people and enjoy the social side. If these sessions weren’t provided, I’d just be at home.”
Jules Howe, Wellbeing for Life Community Connector, added: “I really enjoy delivering these sessions because they improve people’s lives. Even if just one person comes along, we’ve improved someone’s wellbeing. These sessions allow new people to meet, talk and feel part of something.”
Sessions run from Tuesday 2 June to Tuesday 21 July 2026, 1pm to 2.30pm, at the communal lounge on Rowan Avenue, Shildon. Activities include soap making, hand scrubs, diamond art and bird box making.
