Growing Newton Aycliffe business helps more families access affordable sensory support
Melissa Melvin, founder of Calm Minds Big Souls in Newton Aycliffe is turning her passion for helping others into a growing business, thanks to £500 of support from Livin Futures.
The business was inspired by Melissa's own family experiences and her desire to make sensory products more affordable and accessible for other families. She launched Calm Minds Big Souls to support those caring for children with sensory difficulties, anxiety, ADHD, autism and other additional needs.
Melissa has been able to place her first wholesale orders and take the next steps in growing the business thanks to the funding. Her expanding range of sensory toys, calming tools and wellbeing products will help more families access affordable support tailored to their individual needs.

Inspired by my son Layton and our own neurodivergent journey, I'm now able to provide sensory-friendly products to more children, adults and families who need them."
