North East housing partners launch refreshed 2026 prospectus setting out next phase of regional ambition
Housing providers and councils across the North East have launched a refreshed prospectus - Building Better Lives, setting out a shared ambition to deliver more homes, strengthen communities and accelerate regeneration.
The North East Housing Partnership (NEHP), which brings together 20 housing associations and local authorities, manages more than 217,000 homes across the region. Together, partners have set an ambition to deliver at least 15,000 new homes over the next 10 years, with plans to go further through closer collaboration, aligned investment and coordinated development.
The refreshed prospectus places partnership working at its heart, including joint working with the North East Combined Authority and Homes England, targeting investment in priority regeneration areas and sharing learning to improve efficiency. It also reinforces a collective focus on key regional priorities such as warm homes, retrofit, specialist housing and homelessness prevention.
As a member of the partnership, we’ll continue working with others to turn this ambition into real, lasting benefits for communities across the North East.
Alan Boddy, Chief Executive, said: “This prospectus sets out a clear, collective ambition for the North East. By working together, we can make a real difference to the number of homes being delivered and the quality of places, making sure investment is focused where it will have the greatest impact, supporting regeneration, strengthening communities and improving lives across the region.”
