Unlocking success bursary helps Allan get career plans back on track
Local Newton Aycliffe tenant, Allan, is one step closer to returning to the career he loves after receiving support through the Northern Housing Consortium's Unlocking Success Bursary programme.
Allan Todd was awarded a £500 bursary to help fund his VR123 Roadside Safety course, a qualification needed to continue working safely and legally in the vehicle recovery industry.
We’re proud that support from our Livin Futures team has helped Allan take the next step towards his career goals. He has now renewed his CPC modules, while our bursary helped with the cost of additional specialist training to maintain his recovery qualifications. This means Allan can keep his qualifications up to date and be ready when the right opportunity comes along.
Allan said: "Receiving the Unlocking Success Bursary has made a real difference to me. The funding has enabled me to regain my qualifications and put myself in a strong position for future opportunities within the vehicle recovery industry."
Louise Miller, Livin Futures Adviser, said: "It has been a pleasure to support Allan in securing the £500 bursary and regaining his qualifications. The funding has allowed him to take an important step towards returning to a career he loves."
Available to tenants across the North of England, the Unlocking Success Bursary offers grants for training and equipment. The scheme is designed to remove financial barriers to learning and help residents unlock new employment opportunities. For more information, click here.
