Digital lettings prove a hit with new tenants

We recently moved more of our services to digital channels in 2020, responding to the changing environment during the pandemic.

Letting homes is one of our most used services but it relied on face to face contact which we simply were not able to do due to social distancing guidelines. We worked quickly to change our processes to incorporate a digital tenancy sign up with website-based tenant packs, video calls in place of home visits and virtual viewings.

Our new tenants are now able to sign up quicker, easier and safer, with the added benefit of receiving any additional support they may need within days of initial sign up.

Digital lettings demand has taken off over the past few months, with only a small percentage needing additional help to fully complete the process in this way, meaning this is now our main method of letting homes.

Mrs Tremain from Newton Aycliffe said: “The process was really easy, if I can do it anyone can, totally fool proof and well explained”
David Rafferty, head of housing management said: “Digitally letting our homes not only has huge benefits for our new tenants but it has reduced the administration allowing our employees to spend more of their time supporting tenants who need our help”
