Bringing digital confidence to our communities

We are helping more tenants feel confident and connected, with our friendly digital champions offering one-to-one support in the community, making getting online easy and accessible.

Launched in September 2024, the Livin Life Online initiative has already reached out to over 960 tenants, offering support through drop-in events, one-to-one sessions, and small group workshops.

At a recent digital coffee morning held at Jubilee Fields Community Centre in Shildon, we welcomed tenants seeking support to get online. Attendees received hands-on help with everyday digital tasks such as sending emails, using the My Livin app, and navigating essential online services.

Similar sessions have taken place at Rowan Avenue, Spennymoor, Spennymoor Library, Chilton Town Hall, Newton Aycliffe Library and Foundations, Shildon.

Christine, Livin tenant, said: "There were things I did not understand about my smart phone, the session helped me and the the other members and now i can access my NHS records via an app something I’d never have been able to do before".

Alex Johnson, Digital Experience Analyst, said: "It’s inspiring to see how even a small amount of digital support can open up new possibilities. Whether it’s sending an email for the first time or accessing services like the My Livin app, we’re here to make sure no one feels left behind".
