Local housing association Livin, is helping foodbanks across its communities to collect and distribute much needed supplies to vulnerable tenants and residents.
Livin employees are helping local foodbanks Junction 7, Shildon Alive and Life Line Community Action after they highlighted that the demand for support was far outweighing the level of supplies they were able to deliver.
Everyday essentials are being collected from supermarkets and transported to individual foodbanks to parcel up before being delivered to vulnerable people in need of help.
David Rafferty, head of housing management said: “we are doing all we can to help get essential food and supplies to those that need it during this lockdown period, particularly those who are older and vulnerable and rely on foodbanks.”
If you cannot afford to buy food or essential supplies, or are vulnerable and unable to go out and get these items, please get in touch by email to contactus@livin.co.uk, using our Livin app, via Livechat at www.livin.co.uk or telephone 0800 587 4538.
