Last week residents and tenants of Shildon enjoyed fun-filled activities at Shildon community centre, and took part in an estate spring clean as part of their Easter holiday celebrations.
Despite the dreary weather that caused the big estate spring clean to be rescheduled, the celebrations continued and spirits were not dampened. Families made their way to the Jubilee Fields Community Centre, Shildon, where they enjoyed a fun-filled family day complete with games, snacks and an Easter egg for every child to take home.
The event brought together residents and partners who are working to improve the estate's appearance to keep it clean and safe, making it enjoyable for the wider community. Our regeneration team and housing officers, alongside Jubilee Fields Community Centre and Shildon Town Council, including the Town Mayor and Shildon Police, were all present on the day to support the event.
Andy Coulthard, Regeneration Manager said, "There is so much happening across the estate with different partners working together with residents to provide a variety of activities and services. These all help to make the estate a brilliant place to live and be proud of."
Shirley Quinn, Shildon Town Mayor said: "The centre has a real buzz about it at the moment and I am so happy to be part of such an inspirational community building. Thanks to all the partners for their help in getting us to this point"
