In collaboration with Employability Durham, DCC Housing Solutions, Karbon Homes, Changing Lives and Northern Learning Trust, our Livin Futures team has been involved in the delivery of the L!NKCD programme since February 2020.
L!NKCD was a £4.58 million employability programme running from 2019 to 2023 and was lead by Employability Durham. It was partly funded through the European Social Fund as part of the 2014-20 European Structural Investment Funds Growth programme in England. The programme was launched to offer additional support to unemployed people in County Durham who were aged 18 and over and were having multiple challenges preventing them from getting into work.
Through the additional support of the partnership, we were able to help more than 390 customers, of whom over 160 secured employment with the help of the programme. Our Livin Futures team also helped over 70 of our customers to access vocational training with the goal of getting a job.
Shaun, a Livin Futures customer said: "The Livin Futures Advisor who was appointed to me was great, she helped in every way she could to find me a job not just any job but jobs that were a suitable criteria to my skills and experience. Also personally contacting potential employers before applying for roles to enhance my probability of success! Livin went the extra mile too in sourcing funding for a course that would dramatically improve my chances of securing a job I had already applied for. I was always kept in contact to review my progress and to offer any more help if I needed it, I can’t thank Livin Futures enough, they are a great team".
