We were proud to take up a sponsorship package to help as many people from the local community to support Spennymoor Town Football Club as they embarked on their 'Road to Wembley' on Saturday 10 May, ahead of the FA Trophy final on Sunday 11 May.
Together with our partners Mears Group PLC we also kitted out four aspiring young footballers from Spennymoor, and funded their trip to Wembley along with their families, who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to experience the magic of Wembley.
The families were also invited along to meet the squad before their departure and each received a signed football.
Lauren Walton, Livin tenant, said: "We got to experience so many moments of a lifetime and i can't thank you enough for the opportunity. My boys live for football and are well and truly inspired. They both play football and this weekend really made them realise you can go as far as you want to go in life".
Ian Walker, Spennymoor Housing Manager said: "Spennymoor FC has shown great determination, which we should celebrate, no matter the outcome. Their road to Wembley brought us all together. Football for me is about more than just winning; it’s about community and the memories we make along the way, especially for the young lads who enjoyed every moment."
