We have been working together with multi academy Advance Learning Partnership (ALP) to expand the opportunities available to young people in their local communities.

Together we develop apprenticeships, training programmes and deliver support to students. Our successful customer services academy, an initiative to give school leavers the opportunity to continue learning whilst gaining valuable skills, knowledge and experience in customer service is already reaping rewards, with three students from the ALP currently in an apprenticeship and two students having been employed. Similarly ALP have a number of their former students within apprenticeships across many of their schools and within the Trust Central Team.

As two community-focused organisations we have shared our inspiring apprentice case studies on social media during National Apprenticeship Week, to show young people the opportunities apprenticeships offer across a range of different types of jobs.

Together with the ALP we are currently recruiting apprentices into their finance teams, one will be based at Whitworth Park Academy, Spennymoor and one at our headquarters at Farrell House, Durhamgate. You can find out more details on how to apply here.

Graham Darby, director of housing and communities said, “Working together we are creating opportunities and inspiring young people with a range of skills to experience a variety of job roles to help them make informed decisions about their future. We are delighted when the students find a job they love and we see them take the next steps in their careers.”

Stuart Dixon, Whitworth Park Academy head teacher said, “At Whitworth Park Academy we transform lives, enable choices for our children when they leave our school and provide extraordinary opportunities. The chance to work in partnership with Livin to enable young people to remain in their communities and progress into a brilliant career pathway is something that excites us greatly. A partnership that we hope to continue for many years to come”
