Blooming Marvellous 2025: garden competition winners announced!

We were delighted to have received over 60 entries across the four categories in this year’s Blooming Marvellous garden competition, which opened on Friday 6 June and closed on Friday 4 July.

Our judges, Dennis Bradley (Chair of the Board), Natalie Wilkinson (Board Member), Lee Macdonald (Glendale), Janet Hambleton (Compliance and Cyclical Works Manager) and Colin Muir (Grounds Maintenance Contract Co-ordinator) visited the shortlisted gardens and outdoor spaces during the week commencing Monday 14 July to assess the creativity, care, and community spirit on display.

And now, the results are in...

🏡 Best Individual Garden (with grass)

  • 🥇 Roy Turner – £100 voucher
  • 🥈 Paul Hodgson – £50 voucher
  • 🥉 David Flower – £25 voucher

🌸 Best Individual Yard/Patio (without grass)

  • 🥇 Katy Seeni – £100 voucher
  • 🥈 Anthony Harwood – £50 voucher
  • 🥉 Sharon Kane – £25 voucher

🌱 Most Improved Garden (for tenants who moved in within the last 12 months)

  • 🥇 Alan Hutchinson – £100 voucher
  • 🥈 Karen Saunders – £50 voucher

♻️ Best ECO Garden (featuring eco-friendly elements like solar panels, veggie patches, wildflowers, composting, or water butts)

  • 🥇 Yvonne Thompson – £100 voucher
  • 🥈 Hannah Lindsay – £50 voucher

 

Dennis Bradley, Chair of the Board, said: “It’s fantastic to see such enthusiasm and dedication from our tenants again this year. The standard continues to rise, and it’s always a challenge to pick the winners. Congratulations to everyone who took part—you’ve made your communities greener and more beautiful.”
