Celebrating digital confidence during get online week
As part of #GetOnlineWeek, we joined Christine Spence from Spennymoor, who has recently taken huge strides in building her digital confidence thanks to Livin Life Online.
After attending three digital coffee mornings at Rowan Avenue Community Lounge, Christine borrowed a laptop and requested one-to-one support to help her navigate it. With personalised guidance delivered in the comfort of her own home, she’s now developing essential IT skills and growing in confidence every day.
Christine is one of 25 tenants who have successfully overcome digital barriers. Whether it’s accessing services, staying in touch with loved ones, or learning something new, the programme is helping tenants thrive in today’s digital world.
Christine Spence, Livin Tenant shared; “I first started going along to the digital coffee mornings because I needed a bit of help with the technical side of things, and the social aspect as well, with a nice chat over a cuppa with my neighbours. Going along has really boosted my confidence, and I borrowed a laptop; Alex showed me how to store and look through my photos on it. I’ve since bought a dongle to make it easier to use, and I have really enjoyed learning.”
Alex Johnson, Digital Experience Analyst and Digital Champion, said; “By breaking down barriers to technology and digital platforms, we’re empowering tenants to access essential services, stay connected, and take full advantage of opportunities the internet provides.”
With ongoing support, loaned devices, and a commitment to digital inclusion, Livin Life Online is ensuring no one is left behind, find out more information here.
