Hartley Terrace lounge brings community together

Tenants have transformed Hartley Terrace Community Lounge, Spennymoor, into a thriving space where neighbours come together to stay active, connected and have fun.

Raymond Jackson, a regular since June, has helped introduce new activities with support from our Community Regeneration team. After sharing ideas during our ‘Improving Access and Experiences’ feedback session, we were able to supply the community lounge with an indoor bowls set.

Raymond Jackson, our tenant, said: “We’d been chatting about how nice it would be to have more things to do together, and indoor bowls came up. I mentioned it to Malcolm, and now we have our own set. It's great to know that we are being listened to; it feels like our ideas really matter.”

Malcolm Gray, Community Investment Manager, said: “I am thrilled to see the Hartley Terrace Communal Lounge thriving. It’s great to see their ideas come to life and make these spaces welcoming for everyone.”

Our lounges are available across our communities and are perfect for social events, activities, or catching up with neighbours. For more information or to book a communal lounge yourself, click here.
