New health and wellbeing hub opens its doors in Newton Aycliffe
We are proud to support the launch of a brand-new health and wellbeing hub in the Western area of Newton Aycliffe, which will bring vital health initiatives, wellbeing support, and community resources directly to the people who need them most.
Located in our building at 10/11 Silverdale Place, next door to our Ark community space, Waythrough, a local organisation will deliver specialist support and be a central point for health promotion and community connection, offering group activities, wellbeing workshops, drop-in sessions, and a health and wellbeing book library.
The hub has been developed in collaboration with Durham County Council and supported by the Durham Mental Wellbeing Alliance. It is open to anyone aged 16 or over.
Clare Singlewood, Area Manager, Waythrough, said: "Health is about so much more than just the absence of physical illness - it’s about feeling supported, connected, and part of a community. We’re delighted to be launching our new Health and Wellbeing Hub to make that sense of belonging a reality for the people of Western Newton Aycliffe."
Malcolm Gray, Community Investment Manager said: “We are pleased to show our support to the development of a new health and wellbeing hub for Newton Aycliffe. Its location, in the heart of our communities, will help our tenants and residents to access a range of specialist support including mental health and bereavement services”.
