Spennymoor tenant uses support and volunteering experience to kick‑start new business
Spennymoor tenant Anthony Sewell has launched his business, Eco Cleaning Group Ltd, with support from Livin Futures and the South Durham Enterprise Agency.
After receiving £335 in funding, Anthony began shaping his idea into a business plan. With support, he identified the skills he needed and completed a Water Jetting Association course with Hydroblast. Earlier this year, he also volunteered at the West Close Communal Lounge in Shildon, helping to tidy up the outdoor space for residents and gaining valuable experience.
Now fully trained, Anthony offers professional jet washing and outdoor cleaning — and is building the business he once only imagined.
Anthony Sewell, Livin Tenant, said, “Livin Futures helped me turn my idea into a real business. Their support with training and my business plan meant I could gain Water Jetting Association training and accreditation”
Lisa Newham, Community Regeneration Adviser, said, “Anthony is very driven and has a clear vision for his self-employment goals. It’s been lovely to work with him. His volunteering work shows his commitment and character.”
