What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship/advanced apprenticeship combines paid work with learning and training both on and off the job. Apprentices recruited through the Livin Futures programme will be employed directly by Livin or by one of our partners, spending four days per week in the workplace and one day per week at college.

  • Intermediate Apprenticeships start at National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 2 and progress towards level 3 qualifications in a chosen field
  • Advanced Apprenticeships work towards level three qualifications and could progress to a Higher apprenticeship at level 4
