About York Hill regeneration
We aim to breathe new life into York Hill, improving living standards for residents by creating modern living spaces to be proud of, whilst reviving community spirit and bringing people closer together. We also believe that improving the outside of homes and their surrounding environments has a huge impact on the outlook of the people living in them. A comprehensive public consultation exercise with the residents of York Hill estate was carried out in 2015 and identified a need for significant improvements to properties, the environment and the community as a whole.

Become part of the community
The three year project will see York Hill estate boast a variety of two and three bedroomed homes. These have been designed to meet local housing needs and aspirations, be environmentally friendly and energy efficient. Homes are available :
- For Rent - to apply for a home to rent you need to have an active Durham Key Options application which you arrange at Durham Key Option. Any available properties will be advertised through DKO and at livin.co.uk/yorkhill.
- For Sale - Ten properties are planned for release in the coming weeks. For more information please email firstname.lastname@example.org

Creating an online community helps to keep everyone involved in the project up to date on developments.
You may have seen in the local press Helen Goodman popped along to see first hand the works planned for York Hill.
She said “I was absolutely delighted to see the work beginning on the York Hill Estate to create new family homes to a very high standard and to make this a really nice place to live. This was one of the most positive developments I’ve seen in the past 12 months.”
Alan Boddy (executive director of housing and business development) and Vicky Miller (community regeneration manager) accompanied Helen around the site along with our contractors Mears to give her a flavour of what is to come.
