Durham County Council has changed the Council Tax Reduction Scheme. From 1 April 2026, all working‑age residents will need to contribute towards their Council Tax.
We want to make sure you have the right advice and support. If you’re unsure how these changes might affect you, or what to do next, please contact Durham County Council on 03000 262 0000.
In September 2025, Hallie joined our Housing and Communities team as a Housing Apprentice, eager to build her experience in a role that puts people at the heart of her work.
Since starting, she has contributed to a number of key tasks, particularly supporting the garage programmes. Hallie has helped prepare and update customer letters and notices, ensuring information is accurate, timely and easy to understand. Hallie has also been involved in a range of development opportunities and team activities — from project meetings to apprentice events.
“I’ve not long started my role but I’m already learning and getting involved in many great things. I’ve really enjoyed meeting new people and seeing what Livin does behind the scenes. Housing isn’t just about homes but helping people and being a part of something bigger.”
